At the top three hitters parks
Citizens Bank Park (Phillies): No Games
Great American Ballpark (Reds): 4 v. Mets
Coors Field (Rockies): 4 v. Pirates
At the top three pitchers parks
PETCO park (Padres): No Games
Metrodome (Twins): 3 v. Rangers
AT & T Park: 3 v. Brewers
Ratchet Them Up:
Rich Harden (SP, Cubs): If Harden’s first start with Chicago is any indication, he’s going to love pitching in the NL with all of its weak teams and getting that free out that comes with throwing to other pitchers. Best of all, the move to a contender who can score runs can only help his value.
Bobby Jenks (CL, White Sox): Is expected to resume closing duties immediately after the All-Star Break.
Craig Wilson (1B/OF, Mariners): After being traded from Pittsburgh to Seattle, the 31 year old Wilson should see some at bats as a first baseman. He’s still got power and should be able to hit for better average than Richie Sexson was doing.
Kaz Matsui (SS, Astros): Seems to be healthy and running flat out. The steals should keep coming.
C.C. Sabathia (SP, Brewers): Looks to up his win total pitching in Milwaukee and should better his secondary numbers too.
Ratchet Them Down:
Pedro Martinez (SP, Mets): Beware of Pedro until you hear what’s going on with the shoulder which forced him to leave after just four innings on Saturday.
Hanley Ramirez (SS, Marlins): Has a sore right shoulder, skipping the All Star Game for some rest would make sense.
Kerry Wood (CL, Cubs): Has a blister on his throwing hand. He will skip the All Star Game in favor of teammate Carlos Marmol, but still might be effected going into the weekend games.
Aaron Harang (SP, Reds): Will be placed on the 15 day DL with a strain in his right forearm. Forearm injuries sometimes mask a need for Tommy John surgery.
Julio Lugo (SS, Red Sox): Will miss a month maybe more with a strained quadriceps muscle in his left leg.
Roy Oswalt (SP, Astros): Is still bothered by his left hip and will likely be rested or DLed for at least a couple more weeks.
Phil Dumatrait (P, Pirates): Was placed back on the DL with a sore left shoulder.
Kelvim Escobar (SP, Angels): Is done for the season without having even thrown a pitch. He’ll have shoulder surgery.
Dmitri Young (1B, Nationals): Is being bothered by a sore back.
Dustin McGowan (SP, Blue Jays): Will miss at least a month with a torn rotator cuff. Might be time to cut him and move on.
Moises Alou (OF, Mets): As predicted, Alou didn’t last more than a few days after coming off the DL. He tore a hamstring and should be done for the season - and probably for his career.
Vernon Wells (OF, Blue Jays): Will miss 4 weeks plus with a strained left hamstring.
Joe Borowski (RP, Indians): Was released by the team.
Richie Sexson (1B/DH, Mariners): Was released by the team, but may be picked up by the New York Yankees.
Mark Mulder (SP, Cardinals): Injured his shoulder yet again and it seems likely he’s done for the year. At the very least he’ll miss a month.
Todd Helton (1B, Rockies): Will not return to the Rockies lineup immediately after the break as has been previously thought.
Erik Beddard (SP, Mariners): Was placed on the DL with a stiff shoulder.
